Although all of the Haemo-Sol products are quite soluble in water and rinse away efficiently, it may be necessary to test the rinse water for residual detergent. This allows the user to establish the most efficient wash and rinse protocol for a particular application.
Since a solution of Haemo-Sol has a basic pH (a 1% solution of Regular has a pH of 10.25 ± 0.5; N.S. a pH of 11.5±0.5; E.A. a pH of 10.0 ±0.5; and Non-Phosphate a pH of 10.25±0.5), measuring the pH rinse water before and after provides a measure of rinse efficiency. A variety of indicators, pH paper, or pH meters are available to perform this test.
Other solution parameters may also be monitored. These include the surface tension, sodium or phosphate concentration, total ultraviolet absorption of light, conductivity, and resistance of the rinse water.
The user may wish to develop specific tests to address unique concerns.

WHAT IS HAEMO-SOL?
Haemo-Sol cleaners were specifically developed many years ago to pre-clean surgical instruments, syringes, tubing, glassware, and all dental, surgical and Central Sterile Supply instruments. All detergent and dirt rinse away completely, leaving the instrument ready for disinfection and sterilization. Haemo-Sol is the first step in cleaning. Over the years, many other industries, such as electronic and silicon wafer manufacturing, food processing, and automotive mechanics, to name a few, have discovered that the non-etching, non- corrosive, residue-free detergent is exactly what they need to enhance production and maintain high standards of cleaning.
